I completely agree with what Marina Shifrin said about modern journalism. I really miss websites like “The Current” which was a great source of intelligent news articles. Lately even some of the sub-pages on Huffington Post have been sliding into the “click-counting” style of journalism. It’s disconcerting to realize that I recently posted a comment on Courtney Stodden’s unbelievably tight dress. Greed and a lack of principles, combined with the disinterest of a large part of the population who have stopped reading anything, continues to fuel the slide into oblivion of intelligent journalism in America. Now journalism has descended into photos with captions and the type of grammar that, if handwritten, would have the letter “i” dotted with little hearts, and every sentence ending with an exclamation point. Good for Marina for making a statement.
